2. Controlled Substances / DEA Prescribing Policy

Dr. Raj Patel maintains a strict prescribing policy for patient safety and regulatory compliance.

This practice does not prescribe, refill, or manage DEA-scheduled controlled substances under any circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Opioid pain medications (e.g., Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Tramadol)
  • Benzodiazepines/Anxiolytics (e.g., Xanax, Valium, Ativan)
  • Stimulants for ADHD (e.g., Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse)
  • Sedative-hypnotics/Sleep aids (e.g., Ambien, Lunesta)

If your chronic disease management requires the ongoing maintenance of DEA-controlled medications, you must secure a separate, in-person specialist or provider to manage those specific prescriptions.

3. Provider Identity Consistency

Clinical services are delivered exclusively by Dr. Raj Patel, MD, on behalf of VirtualMD PLLC, doing business as VirtualMD (the "Practice"). All medical operations are anchored under an active Washington state medical license and a registered National Provider Identifier (NPI), which are fully cross-referenced to authorize virtual medical care under the Practice entities. Dr. Patel is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine as an Inpatient Hospitalist Specialist and Board Certified by the American Academy of General Physicians in General Primary Care Medicine.
